Copywriting 2: 40 Techniques of Advertising.

Today I will present you 40 Techniques of Advertising. First of all, here's the definition of Media Literacy which I'm studying now.
"Copywriting is writing copy for the purpose of advertising or marketing. The copy is meant to persuade someone to buy a product, or influence their beliefs."

There's 40 types of Basic Advertisement:
1. Association.
This persuassion technique tries to link a product, service, or idea with something with something already liked or desired, like; fun, wealthy, pleasure, beauty, security, etc. For example: Family = Coke, and Victory = Nike.
Look at the picture above. timtam is one which used this technique. For a long time, chocolate is identic with elegancy, or something like that. The same with Magnum, because it's covered with chocolate too. So, Timtam/Magnum = Elegant.
2. Bandwagon
3. Beautiful People
This techniques uses good-looking models to attract attention. They aren't have to be celebrities.
4. Bribery
This techniques tries to persuade us to buy a product by promising to give us something else, like a discount, a rebate, a coupon, or a "free gift".

5. celebrities
We tend to pay attention to famous people. This kind of ads is very common. I'll give you some examples.
6. Expert
Type of a tesimonial. We rely on experts to advice us about things that we don't know ourselves. Scientist, professor, doctors, appears in this ads.
7. Explicit Claims
Something is "explicit" if it is directly, fully, and/ or clearly expressed or demonstrated. For example the ads give details about that product, or the ingredients, or the price.
It used something disliked or feared by the intended audience (like bad breath, failure, high taxes) to promote a "solution".
9. Humour
It's about something funny. People likes funny thing. It will attract their attention. And it will be a good way to introduce the product.
10. Intensity
The languages of ads is full of intensifiers, including superlatives (greatest, highest, best, most), comparatives, hyperbole, exageration, and many other ways to hype the product.
11. Maybe
Unproven, exaggerated, or outrageous

14. Testimonials
15. Warm and Fuzzy.
